Hudisa, the only company from Huelva taking part in Biofach 2023, the international congress for organic product leaders

Lepe, 16 February 2023.  BioFach 2023 holds its annual meeting in Nuremberg (Germany), where new developments related to consumer goods, biotechnology, beverages, natural and organic foods and nutrition are presented.

Hudisa, the leading company in southern Europe in terms of the quantity of red processed fruit and which has an organic line in an expansion process, is one of the seven Spanish companies present at this event, and the only company from Huelva. As Joaquín Malagón, Hudisa’s CEO, states, “we are seeking to integrate the organic concept into our DNA; we want organic to go beyond being a stamp or a certification” and from there, he emphasises, “we are reinforcing all the necessary processes to also guarantee food safety, environmental impact and achieve the health, safety and wellbeing of our workers.” Hudisa has implemented several initiatives to make its industrial and processing activity as sustainable as possible and thus connect it to an idea of a company that goes beyond mere industrial activity. This way, a lot of benefits are created for customers, suppliers, investors and society in general.

Hudisa began their activity in 2002 and is located in the centre of the province of Huelva. Hudisa is a result of the effort, the entrepreneurial vision and the future of the 19 most important red fruit producing cooperatives, creating a vertical integration into the transformation of industrial fruit.

Hudisa has facilities that are above 6,000 m2, which are strategically located in the production area, allowing us to ensure that the fruit arrives in perfect conditions. Our factory has two processing lines, a concentration area and two aseptic packaging lines. We also have a frozen line and a storage area that guarantees the perfect conservation of the products’ organoleptic qualities. These facilities allow us to reach a daily maximum production capacity of 350TN/day HUDISA Hudisa processes and sells purées, concentrates and frozen strawberry, raspberry, blackberry and blueberry fruit from the province of Huelva, which is the largest red fruit producing area in Europe. Hudisa works on three different product lines: conventional, Babyfood and Organic. Avocados and pomegranates have also been included. Hudisa is currently the leading company in the south of Europe regarding the amount of red processed fruit, and it also has a higher than 20 million kilos/year production capacity.
