The Huelva-based company passes the ISO 14001 audit once more
Lepe, 30th October 2024. Hudisa, the leading company in southern Europe in terms of the quantity of processed berries, has obtained ISO 14001, an environmental management certification that highlights the value of environmental protection and sustainability in companies. Currently, this certification is a competitive advantage for all companies as it shows who fulfils their ecological responsibility on an international level.
In order to achieve ISO 14001 Hudisa has had to meet a series of requirements within the framework of an environmental policy drawn up by the company’s management, which includes a voluntary commitment to environmental protection as well as the optimisation of environmental protection measures within the company.
ISO 14001 is a globally recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) that was first published in 1996. The requirements of the standard aim for companies to sustainably promote their operational environmental protection, set their own targets for implementation, and reduce the negative impact of business operations on the environment, including the life cycle assessment of products and services.
Having this certification provides several competitive advantages, including providing customers with the assurance that reliable environmental management is in place, continuous improvement of environmental performance, identification of problems, cost reduction, resource and energy savings, or achievement of environmental targets. This result is in addition to previous initiatives introducied to be more sustainable in Hudisa’s production process.
