The leading berry processing company in Southern Europe consolidates its commitment to food safety and operational excellence.
Lepe, 5 May 2025. Hudisa, a leading company in the processing and marketing of strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry purees, concentrates, and frozen fruit, has passed the demanding audits of the IFS Food standard for the fifth consecutive year, once again achieving the highest qualification: Higher Level.
IFS Food certification serves to ensure that food products meet high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. It is an international certification that assesses and audits production, quality control, hygiene, and management processes in companies in the food sector.
IFS Food certification helps companies to demonstrate to their customers and consumers that their products are safe and comply with international regulations. It also facilitates entry into international markets, enhances the company’s reputation, and reduces food safety risks. It is a key tool to ensure quality and confidence in the food that is produced and marketed.
This certification, recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), assesses compliance with strict food quality and safety standards throughout all the stages following agricultural production. In addition to the IFS Food distinction, Hudisa also holds the AA rating in BRC Food, as well as other international accreditations such as SGF, CAAE, HALAL, KOSHER, and FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
For Joaquin Malagón, CEO of Hudisa, with the renewal of this certification, the company reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence as fundamental pillars of the company’s activity.
Located in the heart of the province of Huelva – the largest berry producing area in Europe – Hudisa was born from the union of 19 of the most important agricultural cooperatives in the area, creating a vertical integration model that guarantees traceability, quality, and efficiency from the field to the end customer.
Hudisa currently leads the market in Southern Europe with a production potential of more than 20 million kilos a year and a daily processing capacity of 350,000 kg. Its range includes Conventional, Babyfood, and Organic products, and it has a commercial presence in more than 30 countries on five continents.
