Lepe, 9 February 2024. Nuremberg will become the reference point for organic products, sustainability, and innovation in the sector, as BIOFACH is the world’s leading organic food fair. The event, which will be held from 13-16 February 2024, will showcase new products and aims to boost the organic sector. On this occasion, the theme of this year’s congress will be: “Food for the future: The impact of women on sustainable food systems”. This year, 2.800 exhibitors from all over the world will be showcasing trends relevant to the future of the organic food industry.
Hudisa, southern Europe’s leading company in terms of the number of processed berries and with an organic line in the process of expansion, will also be present at this year’s event. As Joaquín Malagón, CEO of Hudisa, points out, “what we are looking for is to integrate the organic concept into our DNA” and for this reason, he says, “we are strengthening our processes to not only guarantee food safety and reduce our environmental impact but also tend to the safety and well-being of our workers”. Hudisa has set up several initiatives to make its industrial and processing activity as sustainable as possible and thus link it with the idea of a company that goes beyond purely industrial activity, generating numerous benefits for customers, suppliers, and investors.
Hudisa started its activity in 2002 and is located in the heart of the province of Huelva. Hudisa is the result of the effort, the business vision, and the future of the 19 most important berries-producing cooperatives, vertically integrated in the processing of industrial fruit.
Biofach is the essential annual event attended by the most important companies in the entire value chain of the organic food market, from production to processing and trade. It is the largest international organic congress that addresses cutting-edge issues and the new perspectives of a market in which Spain is one of the main producers not only in Europe but also in the world. It presents the latest developments in consumer goods, biotechnology, beverages, natural food, organic and healthy food.
Hudisa has facilities of more than 6,000 m2 strategically located in the production area so that the fruit arrives in perfect condition from the field to the processing area. There are two processing lines, a concentration area, and two aseptic packaging lines. It also has a freezing line and a storage area that guarantees the perfect preservation of the organoleptic qualities of the product. These facilities allow us to reach a maximum daily production capacity of 350 TN/day.
